Fire door inspections

AM Fire door inspections EssexFire door inspections should be carried out by a fully certified fire door inspector.

Article 17 of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (RRO/FSO) makes it a legal requirement to ensure that fire resisting doors and escape doors are correctly installed and adequately maintained in order for them to be fit for purpose.

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, often referred to as the RRO or FSO, applies to all buildings other than domestic housing, and replaces many pieces of previous fire legislation, including the old fire certificate issued by the local authority fire & rescue service.

When we carry out a fire door inspection we check the structural integrity and correcpt operation, for this assessment we would check the frame, door, hinges, locks, handles and mechanisms.

Depending on the site the frequency of inspections will vary, BS9999:2017 recommends that Fire Resisting Doors are inspected on a 6-monthly basis by a competent person but this may not be realistic for your site,  we can discuss the frequency required for your site with you.
